Coming from the Rain

Ai ran home. Once there she opened the door quickly and ran inside dripping wet. But she had this smile and this laughter in her step. She laughed at herself when she saw how ridiculous she looked. Ai looked into the condo. It was pitch black. She yelled out, "Kaishou! I'm home!" But there was no answer. So she ran from the entrance to the shower as quickly as she could so she wouldn't make mess. She got into the bathroom, started the shower, took off her clothes and got into the warm water. She smiled and laughed as she was washing her hair and such. Ai was thinking of what Aure and her were going to talk about tomorrow. In the end the two might become really good friends. And that's what Ai's laughter was about as it filled the house.

Kaishou came home after taking the long way back home. He knew this was going to cost him in the morning when he woke up with a horrible cough and a cold, but at this moment he just wanted to feel the rain.

He got home and he already knew Ai was there for he saw the lights on. He was actually happy so to speak, even after he practically blew her off before. He didn't want it to be over, even if he tried he couldn't stop feeling the way he did for Ai and that was made him hurt the most.

He walked into the house and the first thing he wanted to do was get out of his wet clothes but he heard Ai in the shower so he let her stay there, this was going to cost him to get sick even more. So the more he thought about it the more he needed to get out.

He walked into the bathroom and he saw Ai from the shower, something was going through his mind and he smiled. "Mind hurrying up Ai..." he joked and it felt good to joke. He could see Ai though...the glass was clear enough to think there wasn't a door at all.

Ai was done when Kaishou came into the picture. Her laughing just became a smile. She found a towel and wrapped it around her body. She stepped out of the shower and found Kaishou looking at her. She gave a grin and said, "It's all yours!" She pointed the the shower and walked out of the room. She went to the closet, found pajamas, changed and got into bed. But she didn't go to sleep. Ai took out a college book of hers and began studying. It wasn't a hard class and in fact they didn't give homework, she just loved to read the material. All she did now was wait for Kaishou.

Kaishou waited for Ai to leave the room for him to get undressed and take a shower. He stayed in the shower for a long time thinking about everything that happened to day. It was the strangest day of all, and yet it was time for it to come to an end. To see what tomorrow brings and new things begin.

Kaishou got out of the shower after a while and got dressed. He brushed his teeth at the sink and then came back to the room and saw Ai in the bed. He knew that it was okay for him to sleep next to her, but he was sure of all he's done he deserved the sofa.

Kaishou climbed into the bed and lied back, he noticed Ai was studying for her college courses. Something that he was never into, that was why he never decided to got to college.

Kaishou turned away from Ai and lied down all the way. He didn't close his eyes though, he was just staring blankly at the wall.

"Ai...." he begun but decided not to continue with what he was going to tell her. "Goodnight...." he said and turned of the lamp on his side of the bed.

Ai though it looked like she was studying, she was actually studying Kaishou. She noticed the way he came in, it looked like he had a full load upon his back. But she didn't bother with it. She watched him get into bed and settle in. And he was sort of right, he did deserve the couch but Ai wasn't that type of person. She acted like was reading still and her eyes widened and went down again when Kaishou talked.

She put the book down and threw it on the floor. She turned off her lamp and faced her own wall. And in a sweet voice she said, "Goodnight Kai..." She then let a few tear drops fall but at least it was dark for Kaishou couldn't see. Ai closed her eyes and dreamed of a better life and day that awaited her for tomorrow.
